Company History
Intex is one of the biggest mobile phone brands in India. They have been manufacturing different products in India for over a decade.
The company has been making a difference in the country with its investment, new jobs, whole supply chain and marketing. In the face of competition from Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio, the company is looking to gain market share.
Aside from the mobile business, Intex has also been diversifying into a wide range of IT accessories Maintenance manual. Its control of the computer accessories industry is almost complete, with a network of 29 stock and sales offices in India.

Founder Narendra Bansal
Narendra Bansal is a first-generation entrepreneur, known for his business acumen. He founded Intex in 1996, and has led the company to become one of India’s top manufacturers of IT hardware and consumer durables.
He has a clear vision of providing affordable products to every district in India, focusing on employment services for the youth, and offering superior after-delivering customer service so that all consumers’ needs are met. His philosophy has helped him build a global reputation for Intex and has contributed to the company’s growth and success.
Intex has a strong network across the country, including 30 stock and sales offices, and over 1,500 service touch points. Its products are also sold through standalone brand stores, renowned hyper markets and specialty stores, and on e-commerce platforms.
Manufacturing
Intex assembles smartphones and feature phones in Noida, India. Its factory churns out 15,000 handsets and 10,000 features each day, but it doesn’t have a dedicated component development center.
In response to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s push to “Make in India,” more and more companies are choosing to manufacture products domestically. For Intex, that means shifting its manufacturing footprint from five facilities across the country to a 20-acre factory in Kasna (Greater Noida), which will produce mobile devices and accessories as well as LED TVs and washing machines.
Intex is also looking to reduce its reliance on foreign components from 70 percent to 20 percent, CFO Rajeev Jain said. That will enable the company to lower costs and compete with Chinese tech giants at home.
Distribution
Intex is a global distribution company that sells consumer electronics, mobile phones, computer peripherals and consumer durables. It also provides services, such as mobile device repair and warranty.
The company has been expanding its distribution capabilities in the US and Europe. It has multiple installation sites and plans to expand them.
A large part of the company’s business is focused on air mattrass and swimming pool systems. Intex is a market leader in this segment and has been serving customers for over two decades.
Intex is building a worldwide network to handle installations and service of its air-expansion machines. This will help the company meet increasing demand for these systems, said Pavel Tsyplakov.
