The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is a mental health teaching hospital based in Toronto. It was established in 1992 and is one of the six hospitals in the region of Ontario designated as a hospital with a mission to serve patients with mental health disorders.

The Center for Addiction and Mental health has branches in several cities across the country, including in Vancouver, British Columbia; Hamilton, Ontario; Ottawa, Ontario; Scarborough, Ontario; Niagara Falls, Ontario; and New York City. Services are offered by psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, addiction specialists, and related staff.

Treatment services include in-patient care, home care, support services, and case management. In-patient care provides the highest level of care for outpatients. Patients who are admitted to the Centre receive treatment under the supervision of qualified doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists,s and other related staff. Many times, family members of the patients receive counseling together with the patients during the admission process. Most times, patients receive psychological treatment as well.

The home care service offered at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health can be of great help to those who need ongoing assistance after they leave the hospital premises. People who are addicted to drugs and alcohol may face the risk of relapse once they leave the facility if they don’t receive timely support.

The home care professionals use techniques such as drug replacement therapy, group and individual counseling, and family therapy. Patients who are staying at the Centre for addiction and mental health treatment receive round-the-clock service and around-the-clock care. They receive psychiatric follow-up care as well.

The social services offered at this Centre for addiction and mental health treatment include providing respite from day-to-day activities to the patients. These patients include people who have recently been discharged from hospitals, nursing homes, or halfway houses.
